Linn-Mar  High School

LMTV

LMTV has been a part of Linn-Mar High School since 2003. It’s an extracurricular activity open to all High School students. It meets in the television studio, Room J-201 in the south wing of the High School, every school morning at 7:37.

The broadcast is shown to the students each weekday morning at 9:00.

In addition to providing timely information to the school, the students are also fine-tuning the basics of performing in front of a camera, along with proper speaking and presentation techniques.  The students have the opportunity to learn video editing and audio mixing skills, graphic design and layout, and effective use of social media.

It’s a great start for students with an eye toward a career in business, communications/public relations, the performing arts and more!

LMTV graduates are now enjoying professional careers as reporters and meteorologists at television stations across the midwest.

Many LMTV High School students have taken top honors in Contest Speech through the Iowa High School State Speech Association (IHSSA). Linn-Mar Students have reached the All-State level in the multimedia categories of TV Broadcasting, Radio Broadcasting and Short Film.

Students with questions about LMTV at the High School should stop by the television studio before school and speak with LMTV Adviser, Kevin Fry, or the Student Station Manager.
