Planning for the Future: A New Central Office Space

A Snapshot Look:

The Learning Resource Center (LRC), located at the corner of 10th St. and 29th Ave. was the first building constructed as part of the Marion Rural Independent School, what is now the Linn-Mar Community School District. The building is centrally located on the Linn-Mar campus and has served many roles over the years: it’s been an elementary, middle and high school for the district, and most recently has housed central office staff.

Beginning in the summer of 2024 the current LRC will be modified to accommodate the needs of Venture Academics, ATLAS and Compass, and will be ready to accommodate more than 400 students.

The central office staff currently housed in the LRC will shift to a new administrative building being built near Excelsior Middle School. This new space will house departments including the superintendent office, communications, teaching and learning, student support services, finance/payroll, human resources, and technology. The building also will include a new meeting space designed to help improve the district’s ability to live stream board meetings, and will offer district staff more space for meetings and training sessions.

The new administrative building has a target completion date of late September.

The Board of Directors will use this space for monthly meetings, and the room can be reconfigured for training sessions as well.

The lobby is welcoming and demonstrates the district’s pride.

The main entry will be facing Excelsior Middle School.
