Superintendent Search

On Friday, March 24th the Linn-Mar Board of Directors announced that Mrs. Amy Kortemeyer would become the new Superintendent of Schools beginning July 1, 2023. The appointment makes Mrs. Kortemeyer the 12th person to lead the district since its first building, at the corner of  North 10th Street and 29th Avenue, opened its doors in 1949.

On January 23, 2023, the school board contracted with Grundmeyer Leader Services, a national firm that specializes in supporting school boards in hiring leadership positions.

At its March 6th meeting, the school board approved the following four characteristics desired in the next superintendent, as determined by the stakeholder survey conducted in February:

1) Communication/ strengths in leadership
2) Focus on student achievement and experience
3) Support teachers/retain and recruit high quality
4) Leadership through the Strategic Plan/do what’s best for students.

Two, twelve-member teams of volunteer stakeholders were part of the formal interview process on March 22nd. Each team was made up of four parents, four employees, two community members, and two students. Click here to view the stakeholder team list
