Successful Day at State Large Group Music Festival

Approximately 700 music students from Linn-Mar High School participated in the Iowa High School Music Association’s State Large Group Festival at Cedar Rapids Washington High School.

All 17 of LMHS’s curricular performing ensembles participated in this festival with many students involved in multiple performances. Groups performed for a panel of three adjudicators and were each assigned a divisional rating, with a Division I (Superior) being the highest.

This was a huge undertaking of teamwork requiring the support of students, parents, music faculty, transportation staff, and high school custodial staff to get all of these students, equipment, and instruments safely transported to and from Washington High School throughout the day.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this such a successful day for our students! Out of all the performances given, the following ensembles from Linn-Mar earned a Division I “Superior” Rating:
