Stories Alive! Linn-Mar Welcomes Illustrator Betsy Lewin
Betsy Lewin, an award-winning children’s book illustrator, is sharing her love for her craft at all seven Linn-Mar elementary schools this week.
Her visit is part of what has become a tradition at Linn-Mar. “Stories Alive” is an annual, week long literacy event that has connected Linn-Mar elementary students to famous children’s book authors and illustrators from across the country.
Ms. Lewin encouraged the students to always pursue their dreams, no matter what! She told them that she wasn’t able to realize her lifelong dream to become a children’s illustrator until she was 40.
Her audience immediately recognized her work in, Click Clack Moo: Cows that Type by Doreen Cronin.
Stories Alive is made possible through a grant from the Linn-Mar Foundation with additional funding provided by Hills Bank and Trust Company,
