“Roar for Reading” Encourages Students to Read!
“King”, the Linn-Mar Lion, received a roaring welcome from the students at Linn Grove Elementary as he joined in the celebration to kick off the school’s “Roar for Reading” campaign.
Roar for Reading is a month-long reading challenge to see how many minutes our students can read at home! The goal for Roar for Reading is to promote reading and build community within the school. It’s a fun competition to encourage children to read more at home.
The students and their families will keep track of the “reading minutes” and turn in their totals each Wednesday.
“We want all children to be successful with this reading challenge. We will have times available for students to read with an adult if they do not have support at home,” said Tammie Tomash, Instructional Coach at Linn Grove.
The top class for each grade level earns the traveling trophy to display in their room for the week.
