Oak Ridge Students Learn About Electricity at Roadshow
Oak Ridge Middle School six grade students recently enjoyed a visit from the Rockwell Collins Roadshow. Students learned firsthand about the properties of materials and how engineers test and modify them to meet a particular need.
The students learned how weight distribution is utilized in everyday life and handled tile bricks used on past space shuttles to extend their knowledge of density. Additionally, the class learned the basics of how electricity can be created using magnets and copper. The Rockwell Collins representatives did an amazing job relating the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, (STEM) in almost all jobs.
