Novak Achieves Advanced High Reliability Recognition
Novak Elementary has the distinction of earning Level 2 certification of High-Reliability Schools as designated by Marzano Resources.
Level 2 certification means Novak has established “Effective Teaching in Every Classroom,” which focuses on the responsibility of both school leaders and teachers in ensuring high-quality instruction.
In learning about the award, Associate Superintendent of Elementary Education, Bob Read said, “This a complement to the dedicated work of Principal Carol O’Donnell and her team of talented educators. It will ensure continued high levels of student learning and is key to our ongoing improvement processes at Linn-Mar.”
The high-reliability school (HRS) program was created by Marzano Resources to help
transform schools into organizations that take proactive steps to ensure student success.
This framework, based on 50 years of educational research, defines progressive levels of
performance that a school must master to become an HRS—where all students learn the content
and skills they need for success in college, careers, and beyond.
