Modification Plans for Current LRC: Temporary Locations, Summer Hours and More

Making Space for Additional Project-Based Learning Opportunities

The popularity of the district’s project-based learning courses and growth in other programs will lead to an expansion in high school classroom space this fall.

Beginning this summer the current Learning Resource Center (LRC), located at the corner of 10th St. and 29th Ave. will be modified to accommodate the growing needs in our district. The LRC building has served many roles over the years: it’s been an elementary, middle and high school for the district, and most recently has housed district administrators. The summer’s space updates will ensure the space meets the needs of Venture Academics, ATLAS and Compass, and will accommodate more than 400 students. These modifications include adding fire suppression sprinklers to the second floor, modifying office spaces on the second floor so they can be used as classrooms, and updating the building’s fire alarm system.

Below is a summary of the transition plans related to the remodel of the current LRC.

Summer 2024 Hours

From June 3- August 2 the LRC/Central offices will be staffed and open 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday with district offices closed on Fridays.
