Mike Geers Junior High Wrestling Coach of the Year!

The Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association has named Mike Geers the Junior High Coach of the Year.  The award was presented during the State Wrestling Tournament in Des Moines.

Mike has been a middle school coach boys’ wrestling coach for twenty-five years. He also served as a longtime assistant for the boys’ varsity team, even volunteering for a couple of years.

Most recently he started the girls’ wrestling program at Linn-Mar and is the head girls’ wrestling coach.

The Junior High Coach of the Year award is seen as an achievement that promotes wrestling at all levels.
