Middle School Students Learn About Local Manufacturing Company
Sixth-grade middle school students from Excelsior and Oak Ridge Middle School had the opportunity to visit Legacy Manufacturing in Marion recently to learn about different career types.
The visit – part of Marion Economic Development Corporation‘s (MEDCO) Career Explorers program – was their first trip to a local business to learn about a variety of careers including engineering, information technology, graphic design, customer support, quality control, and manufacturing.
In addition to learning about different job types, the students also have lessons on the soft skills required to be a good employee.
In February, the explorers will visit Quincy Recycling followed by a trip to Linn-County REC in March.
