LMHS Track and Field: A Strong Showing at Drake

Despite less than ideal conditions for part of the event, our boys’ and girls’ Track and Field teams represented Linn-Mar very well at the 110th Drake Relays In Des Moines.

Trent Davis became the third person in state history to beat 14 seconds in the 110-meter with a time of 13.99. He also came in 7th in the 400 hurdles. Our guys took 2nd in the shuttle hurdle relay, 4th in the 3,200 relay and 5th in the 400 relay. Dylan Dolezal took 8th in the 3,200.

For the girls, Dimia Burrell, Jill Bennett, Emily Schmidt and Lily Haars took 1st place in the girls’ 1,600-meter relay. Dimia Burrell took 2nd in the long jump. Micah Poellet came in 5th in the 3,000. Jill Bennett took 6th in the 100. The girls also took 6th in the 400 relay, 8th in the sprint medley relay, and tied for 3rd in the Hy-Vee Cup.
