LMHS Students Chosen for All-State Jazz Band

 

Five Linn-Mar High School students were selected as part of the 2021 4A Iowa All-State Jazz Band.

The 4A Jazz Band will rehearse and put on a performance on Saturday, June 19^th at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater in West Des Moines.

The selection process for All-State Jazz requires an audition submitted as an audio track of students demonstrating a swing etude and jazz improvisation.

Twenty students from across the state are selected for the jazz band as well as one alternate for each instrument.

 

Selected for the band:

Cavan O’Hara (12^th Grade – Alto Sax)

Moosa Hamad (11^th Grade – Trumpet)

Arjun Palaniappan (11^th Grade – Drum Set)

 

Selected as alternates for the band:

Evan Shanley (9^th Grade – Bari Sax)

Nick Reuben (11^th Grade – Trumpet)
