LMHS Senior Diamond Purchase Honored with Service Above Self Award

Linn-Mar High School Senior Diamond Purchase has been honored with the Service Above Self award by the Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids. The award is given to area high school students who exemplify the club’s values and the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in their school, neighborhood, faith, family and work communities.
She was recognized with eight other high school seniors at a luncheon held on Martin Luther King Day. Diamond is the president of LMHS’ Accountability, Leadership, Opportunity club, is active in a youth group at her church, and is a dance choreographer.
For earning the award, she will receive a $100 donation to the charity of her choice. Diamond chose the Henry Davidson Youth Camp.
