LMHS and Middle School Orchestras take top spots at Jefferson Invitational
Congratulations to all of our Orchestras who participated at the annual Jefferson Orchestra Invitational on Saturday, April 22nd. It was a great day for the orchestra program with the High School Symphony Orchestra placing 1st within their division and receiving superior ratings from all the judges. This marks the tenth year in a row that this ensemble has placed 1st within the 4-A division. The Concert Orchestra placed third within the same division and our Philharmonic Orchestra earned a division one (1) superior rating from the judges. Our high school orchestras are under the direction of Mr. Joshua Reznicow and Mr. Thad Sentman.
Like our high school program, our middle school programs also had a great day at the Invitational with our Middle School Chamber Orchestra competing within the middle school division, receiving superior ratings from the judges and placing 1st overall. This marks the fourteenth year in a row that our middle school orchestras have placed 1st within their division. Our middle school ensembles are co-directed by Mrs. Kristine Schamberger and Mrs. Katie Vail.
Last week’s event was the fourteenth year that our Orchestras have participated in a contest of this kind. There were a total of fifteen Orchestras performing throughout the day from around the state of Iowa. Each group performed for three judges and one clinician, who gave them a thirty-minute clinic following their performance.
Congratulations Orchestra!
