LMHS Cheer to Perform at 2019 Sugar Bowl
Linn-Mar Cheer is headed to “The Big Easy” to take part in the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade and Half-time Show!
The Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade is scheduled for 2:00 pm on December 31st. The New Year’s Day game between Texas and Georgia will be aired by ESPN with coverage starting at 7:00 pm and kick-off set for 7:45 pm.
Twenty-two of our girls will take part in the festivities that will go through the French Quarter, along Decatur Street and the Mississippi River, and by landmarks such as The Old U.S. Mint, the French Market, Café du Monde, and Jackson Square.
“The girls will perform with other cheerleaders and dancers from across the country to music played by high school bands,” said Coach Erin Taylor. “The group has been practicing the dance by Hollywood choreographer Chuck Maldonado since November.”
Taylor went on to say that our girls will perform in front of 75,000 people in the New Orleans Super Dome and learn about the rich history and culture of the area.
A local television station (WDSU), will cover the parade from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. You can learn more by visiting the WDSU website at www.wdsu.com and hopefully catch a live stream of the parade!
Be sure to tune in to watch their performance in addition to showing support for our girls online. You can follow them on Twitter @LinnMarCheer or on the Linn-Mar Cheerleading Facebook page.
