LM School Board Voices Opposition to Legislative Proposal
The Linn-Mar School Board has approved a resolution voicing opposition to Iowa Senate File 159.
The proposed legislation would basically allow for the spending of public dollars for private schools. In its proclamation, the board says the plan does not include accountability, transparency or reporting requirements for public dollars.
The resolution also states that the proposal weakens support for public school students and legislators should continue to promote and fully invest taxpayer resources in lowa’s public schools.
