LM Bands Showcased at Bandmasters Conference

Three All-State Jazz students from Linn-Mar, who had been selected to perform in the 4A All-State Jazz Band, Moosa Hamad (senior), Nick Reuben (senior), and James Qualben (junior) all on trumpet, helped kick off the three-day conference in Des Moines.

The 8th Grade Excelsior Middle School Band performed Thursday afternoon under the direction of Mike Davies, along with David Anderson.

The High School Wind Ensemble performed Friday under the direction of Aaron Nuss along with Dan Terrell and Jen Tiede.

The Hazel Point sixth grade band performed Saturday morning under the direction of Stephanie Nuss along with Kevin Makinster, and Brett Dupree.

High School band instructor, Aaron Nuss, was awarded by the Iowa Bandmasters Association the Karl King Distinguished Service Award (Active) for making significant contributions to IBA and school band programs.
