Lion Learning: Venture Academics
You are invited to discover the exciting world of Venture Academics. It’s the topic of our upcoming Lion Learning. It’s Tuesday, November 30th. It will be offered in two sessions, at noon or 5:30 PM, in the Boardroom of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) 2999 North 10th Street, Marion.
Venture Academics is a project-based learning experience available to Linn-Mar High School students. It targets those that want to apply, analyze, evaluate, and create with foundational learning.
Mark Hutcheson, Director of High School Teaching and Learning, and Elyssa McDowell Venture Academics Strategic Partner Coordinator, will share a presentation explaining how the program works and the registration process.
They’ll present the 11 content-focused “strands” of student learning and project work. They will explain how the strands are structured and how they include one or more mentor teachers, community advisors, mentors, or partners supporting students through credit-bearing coursework and projects of student choice.
Parents of younger students are welcome to attend the sessions to get a closer look at educational options available at the secondary level.
Guests are asked to park in the LRC lot (enter off 29th Avenue). The visitor parking is next to the tennis courts. The main entrance to the LRC is in the middle of the building
