
Linn-Mar Students and Teacher Recognized for Excellence in the Arts
Linn-Mar High School student Emma Larson and teacher Trent Buglewicz have been selected to receive honors at The Gazette’s Excellence in the Arts event.
Emma Larson: Honored for Visual Arts
Emma Larson, Linn-Mar student, has been recognized in the visual arts category. Emma’s selection was made by The Gazette’s Excellence in the Arts Advisory Council after reviewing submissions from students across Eastern Iowa. Kara Larson, who nominated Emma, highlighted Emma’s creativity and dedication.
Trent Buglewicz: Recognized as Youth Advocate
Linn-Mar music teacher Trent Buglewicz was selected as one of two youth advocate honorees. Known for his dedication to students and impactful mentorship, Buglewicz’s recognition comes after receiving six nominations from students, colleagues, friends, and family members. His positive influence and commitment have made a lasting impact on the Linn-Mar community.
Recognition and Event Information
Several other Linn-Mar students will also showcase their work at the event as part of the student-led gallery, offering a variety of creative pieces for attendees to enjoy.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 9 at Theatre Cedar Rapids. Doors open at 2 p.m. for live art exhibits and concessions, with the program beginning at 3 p.m. The event will celebrate student achievements, live performances, and Eastern Iowa’s arts community.
