Linn-Mar Names Malicevic as New Head Boys Soccer Coach
Linn-Mar High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Kenan Malicevic as the new Head Boys Soccer Coach. Pending school board approval, Malicevic will join Linn-Mar’s coaching staff for the 2020 season.
“We feel Coach Malicevic is a perfect fit for our Boys Soccer program,” said Athletic Director Dave Brown. “His leadership style, passion for the game, and unique soccer experiences as a player and coach will be a great fit for our student-athletes.”
Born in Travnik, Bosnia, Malicevic came to Cedar Rapids in 2005 as an exchange student. He later went on to play and coach at Drake University. Malicevic also played and coached for several professional clubs, including the Cedar Rapids Rampage and teams in Bosnia and Poland.
Malicevic holds a USSF National “C” Soccer Coaching License and currently serves as the head coach for the Cedar Rapids Inferno – a position he will hold in addition to his coaching duties at Linn-Mar.
“I’m very excited to join a well-respected Linn-Mar soccer program,” said Malicevic. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and I’m very excited to meet the team.”
