Linn-Mar High School Venture Life Science Strand Listens to Guest Speaker
Meet Jen Loeb. In 2016, she became the first woman from Iowa to climb Mount Everest. Just last month she returned to Iowa after climbing Vinson Massif, the tallest mountain in Antarctica. This completed her goal of Seven Summits; climbing the tallest mountain on each continent.
This week, she talked to High School students in Linn-Mar’s Venture Academic’s Life Science (biology) strand about how the severe weather and extreme sports can affect the body. Jen earned a biology degree from Wartburg College, so she was excited to come to Linn-Mar and share her story and talk biology with our High School students. “I really do hope my story inspires students to go do great things!” – Jen Loeb
