Linn-Mar Extending School Closure
April 2, 2020
Linn-Mar Students, Families, and Staff,
This afternoon in her daily press conference, Governor Reynolds ordered the closure of all schools to continue through April 30, 2020.
This communication is to notify you that the Linn-Mar Community School District will follow the Governor’s order and close our schools as a strategy to combat Covid-19. With this extended closure, we will adjust our operational and educational priorities that had been established for the initial three-week closure and communicate the changes in the upcoming days.
We know that the past weeks have been difficult for families and students. We appreciate your patience as we work through these unprecedented times. We anticipate receiving some additional guidance from the Iowa Department of Education in upcoming days regarding options for continuous learning. Once we receive this guidance we will update our plans for supporting student learning; even though our schools remain closed.
We look forward to the day that we can return to our normal lives and get our schools back to the vibrant learning centers they have always been. Until that time, please stay healthy and enjoy the additional family time as we all continue to learn to master the art of social distancing.
Thank you,
Shannon Bisgard, Superintendent
Linn-Mar Community School District
