Linn-Mar Chooses New Varsity Softball Coach
Pending approval by the Linn-Mar School Board, Linn-Mar High School Social Studies Teacher Lindsey Murray will become the new Varsity Softball Coach. Murray replaces John Begley, who retired at the end of the season.
Many of the loyal Linn-Mar Softball supporters probably remember Ms. Murray as Lindsey Digmann. She still holds Linn-Mar Softball career records in at-bats, singles and stolen bases.
After graduating from Linn-Mar, Murray continued her softball career at the University of Iowa where she earned Big Ten All-Conference and All-Tournament honors playing for Hall of Fame Coach Gayle Blevins. Murray graduated from the University of Iowa in 2011 with a major in History and a minor in Sociology.
She spent 2011 and 2012 as Varsity Assistant Softball Coach at Linn-Mar. Ms. Murray was a social studies teacher in the Western Dubuque Community School District, where she also served as an Assistant Softball Coach for the Bobcats from 2012-2017.
Congratulations to Ms. Lindsey Murray, the new head varsity softball coach here at Linn-Mar!
