Linn-Mar Chamber Singers Selected for ACDA National Conference Performance
Chamber Singers, one of Linn-Mar High School’s seven curricular choirs, has been selected to perform at the American Choral Directors Association National Conference in Dallas, Texas this spring.
Each year hundreds of choral directors from every state apply for their choirs to have the opportunity to perform at this prestigious conference, and only around 20 are selected. Chamber Singers is an auditioned ensemble of 43 sophomore through senior voices selected from around 400 students who participate in a curricular choir at Linn-Mar High School. The Linn-Mar choir will perform, pending board approval, on Friday, March 21th at 10:30am at the Meyerson Symphony Center, and at 2:30pm in the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. This will be the first performance at an ACDA National Conference in Linn-Mar High School’s history.
“I’m so lucky to work in a district and community that not only supports the fine arts, but one that wants its fine arts to excel and provide unforgettable opportunities for students,” commented Linn-Mar High School’s Trent Buglewicz, who directs the Chamber Singers. “This conference performance will set a new bar for my students to work toward, and will supply them with memories for a lifetime. I’m so proud of the singers in this ensemble, and of the students from the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 Chamber Singers whose recordings earned our ensemble this opportunity!”
