Linn-Mar Celebrates America Reads!

The Linn-Mar Community School District would like to thank the hundreds of volunteers who took part in America Reads Day 2017. This year, more than 350 readers took part in more than 650 reading sessions at our seven elementary schools!

High school students, parents, grandparents, city officials, local radio and television celebrities, professional athletes, and district representatives took time out of their day to share a story with our elementary students.

America Reads, now in its 21st year, is a national challenge to improve literacy among elementary-age children. Locally, it is a two-day, joint event with Marion Independent, Cedar Rapids CSD, College Community, and Xavier Catholic
