Julie White Honored With Outstanding Educator Award
Congratulations to Excelsior Middle School’s Julie White who is one of five educators to receive a 2019 Grant Wood AEA Building Bridges Accessible and Assistive Technology Conference Outstanding Educator Award!
Julie believes everyone should have a voice and the language/literacy skills necessary to be an active participant in their environment. Julie models language for her students to ensure expressive language growth. She provides access to each individual communication system throughout the school day, specifically planning her academic tasks with communication targets in mind. Julie demonstrates excellent leadership in her classroom, creating an environment that supports the highest quality learning for her students in all settings during the middle school day.
Julie is a mentor for other Linn-Mar teachers, and collaborates with supporting professionals, always seeking to expand her own learning. Her creative mind and talent creates a learning environment that all students can access. Joining Julie for the presentation was Symon Sanborn, instructional coach, Linn-Mar’s Student Support Services.
In addition to receiving the Outstanding Educator Award, Julie recently received a 2019 Innovator LIONS Award!
Congrats!
