Interact Club Donates $1200 to Local Non-Profit
Members of the High School’s Interact Club presented Deafinitely Dogs representatives (including
Fury, a phantom standard poodle, and Mindy, a Labrador retriever) with a check for $1,200 in the South Commons Tuesday afternoon.
Originally, the group’s goal was to raise $1,000 with an apple pie sale held in the fall. Through the hard work and dedication of club members, the team successfully reached their goal and raised an additional $200 that will be used for food, care, and supplies for the new dog. As a result of the donation, the club was able to name the dog that would be purchased through the donation. The club chose MacIntosh as the puppy’s new name – Mac for short.
The Interact Club is a community-service based club focused on community outreach.
Based in Cedar Rapids, Deafinitely Dogs is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides highly-trained service dogs to those with disabilities. For more information, visit the Deafinitely Dogs website.
