Curious what it’s like to be a student at Linn-Mar High School? Hear directly from a student’s perspective
Kyra Kanz
On Monday, December 12th, 2022, Linn-Mar High School Senior, Kyra Kanz will start her morning in AP Statistics and Chamber Choir. She then goes to Westfield Elementary for two hours and works with elementary students through the Apprenticeship program. Kara is one of approximately 20 current Linn-Mar High School students who are working towards earning a paraeducator certificate through the Teacher & Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship Program (TPRA). In the afternoon, Kyra heads back to the High School for AP Music Theory and Gym. After school she will have a callback audition for the spring musical Les Misérables and then she finishes her evening at show choir practice.
Kyra is a member of Linn-Mar’s award-winning 10th Street Edition Show Choir and involved in many more music and drama extracurriculars. Kyra’s mom, Keelyn, is a music teacher at Westfield Elementary and Dad, Greg, is the manager of Marketing at Shive-Hattery. Kyra plans to go to a four-year university for Music Education.
Tate Naaktgeboren
On Tuesday, November 15th, 2022, Linn-Mar High School Senior, Tate Naaktgeboren took over the district’s Instagram account for the day to share a behind the scenes look at Linn-Mar (#LinnmarBTS). This was the first Instagram Takeover for the district, and we’re honored to have Tate share his day with us and with all of you!
