Homecoming Behavior/Student Supervision Information
To the Linn-Mar Community and LMHS Parents/Guardians,
We have many students and school groups actively planning and preparing for the 2022 Linn-Mar Homecoming celebration (September 19-24). Linn-Mar Homecoming honors all current Linn-Mar students in our district and the alumni of LMHS.
The goal of having Homecoming events is to promote a spirit of unity and pride within the school district by providing specific opportunities for our students, the Linn-Mar community, and LMHS alumni to be involved in the celebration.
The Linn-Mar Homecoming parade will be held on Wednesday, September 21, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The parade will feature students representing all Linn-Mar district schools, including many of our high school clubs, organizations, athletic teams, and fine arts groups.
The purpose of this letter is to ask for the support of our parents and community to ensure a safe and appropriate Homecoming week. We ask for your cooperation as parents and community members in preventing any reckless and unlawful behavior. It is always unacceptable for anyone to engage in reckless or unlawful behavior, to damage private or public property, or to harass any individual at any time, including during Homecoming week.
The official Homecoming events for the week are the athletic and fine arts events during the week, the parade/powderpuff game on Wednesday night, the Pep Rally and game and performances on Friday night, and the dance on Saturday night. As always, the focus in classrooms during the week will continue to be on current academic coursework.
We thank you in advance for your efforts in helping to ensure a safe, appropriate, and enjoyable Homecoming week for everyone in the Linn-Mar community.
We invite our Linn-Mar community to join our seven elementary schools, two intermediate schools, two middle schools, and LMHS (including the Success, COMPASS, and ATLAS Centers) in celebrating Homecoming in an appropriate manner and with Linn-Mar spirit.
Thank you for your support in making for a successful 2022 Linn-Mar Homecoming week.
Go Lions!
Respectfully,
Jeffrey M. Gustason
LMHS Principal
