Homecoming Letter to Parents and Community
The Linn-Mar Community School District homecoming parade will be held on Thursday, September 27, beginning at 5:15 p.m. The parade will feature students representing all Linn-Mar schools, including many high school clubs, organizations, teams, and fine arts groups. Events on Friday, September 28, include 10th grade and varsity football games and performances by our LMHS cheer squads, JV and Varsity Poms, JV Color Guard and The Marching Lions.
The purpose of this letter is to communicate dates and times for these events and to continue to ask for the support of our parents and community to ensure a safe and appropriate week. We ask for your cooperation as parents and community members in preventing reckless and unlawful behavior. It is unacceptable for anyone to engage in reckless or unlawful behavior, to damage private or public property, or to harass any individual at any time, including during homecoming week.
The only official homecoming events for the week are the parade/coronation/powderpuff game on Thursday night, the pep rally and games on Friday night, and the dance on Saturday night. As always, the focus in classrooms during the week will continue to be on current academic coursework. Our hope is that the homecoming events are well attended and a highlight for everyone involved. We thank the previous and continued efforts of our parents, our school community, many business owners, and law enforcement in helping ensure a safe and appropriate week for everyone.
We invite the Linn-Mar community to join our seven elementary schools, two middle schools, and LMHS (including the Success and COMPASS Centers) in celebrating Homecoming in an appropriate manner and with Linn-Mar spirit. We thank you for your support in making Linn-Mar Homecoming 2018 an appropriate and spirited week. Go Lions!
Respectfully,
Jeffrey M. Gustason
