Guest Speaker Brings Positive Message to Middle Schools.
If at first, you don’t succeed, try, try again. It’s age-old advice with a new twist that Trevor Ragan brought to Linn-Mar parents and Middle Schoolers.
The theme of his presentations focused on the realization that some of our most powerful learning comes from making mistakes.
Ragan delivered variations on the theme, first to adults at a Parent University session Monday night, and then at assemblies Tuesday at Excelsior and Oak Ridge Middle Schools.
For the students, the message also included conversations on the power of fear. He reminded his young audience that fear can be helpful when we’re in danger, but sometimes it gets in the way when we want to try new opportunities. It’s important for everyone to discover ways to work through their fears to succeed.
