Enhancing Vocabulary Awareness

Linn-Mar High School students are taking part in an enhanced effort to broaden their vocabulary skills.

The Lion’s C.A.V.E. (Common Academic Vocabulary 4 Everyone) will present two weekly words. The students will discover and learn the words and definitions in a variety of ways.

They will be included in educational discussions in class, posted on informational screens throughout the building, and featured in the high school’s daily TV broadcast, LMTV News. 

The idea is to expand the use of common keywords in the English language. Teachers are provided with practice resources to make vocabulary building a fun educational experience for everyone throughout the high school.
