Colton Center Jazz Ensemble Going to State!

The Colton Center Jazz Ensemble (CCJE) had another fantastic performance at the Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association (NEIBA) district jazz festival on Saturday, March 2nd.  The band earned 1st place in class 4A.  Freshman guitarist Carter Buske earned the “Outstanding Soloist” in class 4A.  

Placing first at NEIBA automatically qualifies CCJE for the Iowa Jazz Championships on Tuesday, April 2nd in Ames.  CCJE will perform at 3:45 that day. 

The band has earned first place at the three jazz festivals they attended this year:  Liberty Jazz Festival, Coe Jazz Summit, and the NEIBA District Jazz Festival.  Carter Buske has won “Outstanding Soloist” at two of those festivals.
