Celebrating the Linn-Mar Nutrition Services Team

We want to give a huge shout-out to the women and men of the Linn-Mar Nutrition Services Team in observance of National School Lunch Week.

Each day at Linn-Mar, a group of 84 people, including substitutes, work tirelessly to provide an average of 4,600 to 4,800 lunches and over 815 breakfasts to Linn-Mar students in twelve buildings across the district!

Today’s school lunches meet strict nutrition standards, including limits on calories, sodium, and unhealthy fats. This year, there is an extra challenge. Supply chain shortages from manufacturers have forced our team to “scramble” (pardon the pun) and alter the menu accordingly.

The latest menu information is always posted on the home page of our website (look for the broccoli on the lower portion of the page.) Despite those menu challenges, Nutrition Services Director Stacy Fish says “we are still getting meals done.” She applauds the efforts of the entire team working together to proudly serve Linn-Mar students and staff every school day!
