The Carpool Lane: Where Parents Pick Up Resources from Grant Wood AEA

Grant Wood AEA has a blog called The Carpool Lane, where parents and caregivers can ‘pick up’ tips, resources, and information to help them support their student. The hope is to help equip parents with AEA resources that reinforce learning at home just as the AEA connects district teachers similar resources in the classroom.

Blogs are shared through a Facebook Page called @GWAEACarpoolLane. Some of the resources shared already this fall include parent informational meetings about 504 and IEP plans, parent tips for improving student literacy, and an invitation to a special event for students with disabilities to interact with first responders.

District staff are encouraged to follow The Carpool Lane to get information about public events, webinars, and to access tips and resources, and can help the AEA spread the word by inviting parents to follow the FB page as well.
