Bob Read Named Director of Innovation
Linn-Mar Community School District has named Bob Read as director of innovation.
Read will assume his duties for this new role July 1.
As Director of Innovation, Read will provide leadership for Linn-Mar staff and students in the areas of innovation, technology integration and instruction.
Read stated, that this position “is an opportunity to improve student learning through the use of innovation and technology. Innovation is a catalyst for continuous improvement, it builds capacity within a system. It is the challenge of providing our students with personalized pathways to maximize learning.”
Read has taught at Indian Creek Elementary, Excelsior Middle School and the High School.
Since 2008, he has been the director of teaching and learning at Linn-Mar. Read received his Master of Arts degree in Mathematics for the Middle Grades in 1999.
According to Linn-Mar Superintendent Dr. Quintin Shepherd, Read’s responsibilities will include “the development and implementation of personalized learning for students, blended learning course offerings, and collaborative learning that will prepare students for future success in college, careers and citizenship.”
Shepherd added, “All of this work will help us make progress on our Strategic Plan and various initiatives found within that plan as we endeavor to Inspire Learning. Unlock Potential. Empower Achievement!”
