Amy Bowman Named New Principal at Indian Creek Elementary
The Linn-Mar Community School District has announced Amy Bowman as the new principal of Indian Creek Elementary. She will officially assume the role following the retirement of current principal Kelly Kretschmar on February 28.
Bowman is currently an instructional coach at Bowman Woods Elementary. She previously served as a first-grade teacher at Novak Elementary and as an instructional coach at Westfield Elementary. She holds an undergraduate degree in early childhood education and two master’s degrees—one in reading from Missouri State University and another in education with principal licensure from Viterbo University.
Earlier this winter, Kretschmar announced her plans to retire after serving in multiple roles throughout the district.
“We want to thank Kelly for her considerable contributions to the Indian Creek and Linn-Mar communities,” said Superintendent Amy Kortemeyer. “Kelly’s career has spanned a number of roles in our district, and in each of those capacities, she has brightened, enriched, and led efforts that impacted our students and families. We’ll miss her in so many ways and wish her nothing but the best as she embarks on this exciting new chapter.”
Superintendent Kortemeyer also shared her enthusiasm for Bowman stepping into the leadership role at Indian Creek.
“Amy has been a valued member of our district and brings a deep understanding of our students, staff, and community to her new leadership role at Indian Creek. We look forward to the leadership, passion, and vision she will bring to our students and staff in her new position.”
