America Reads Day 2024

Our PreK through 6th-grade students were visited in 679 15-minute reading sessions across Linn-Mar Community School District for America Reads Day on Friday, Oct. 18 . This annual event invites guest readers from the community to share their love for reading and its impact on their lives.

Volunteers who supported these reading sessions included community leaders, parents, retired and current district staff, high school and college students, and alumni. Their participation helps inspire a love for reading among our students.

We would like to thank our America Reads Day Event Coordinators: Mary Allen, Christine Summers, Amanda Thorp, Angie Meholensky, Erika Battern, Amanda Rink, Priscilla Zaehringer, Bri Castro, Erin Acosta, Tara Wagner, Jennica Yatskis, Erin Gochenour, Marcy Walker, Regan Dahlstrom, and Tabitha Lightfoot. Your efforts make a difference in promoting literacy in our community.
