ALO and JR. ALO support Ronald McDonald House Families
Families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City will be welcomed with care packages from Linn-Mar.
It’s the spring service project for ALO. ALO stands for Accountability, Leadership, and Opportunity. The group meets regularly at the high school, while its feeder program, Jr. ALO, meets at Excelsior and Oak Ridge Middle Schools.
The three schools came together to collaborate on this special project.
“The students put together care packages that consisted of non-perishable foods and toiletries, hygiene items, and fun activities for the kids in these families to enjoy.”, said High School ALO sponsor, Janessa Carr.
The donations were provided by Linn-Mar families during a campaign held throughout March and early April.
ALO is Linn-Mar’s multicultural student leadership program. ALO prides itself in bringing together students from diverse backgrounds, and growing a community where all students are celebrated and accepted.
