48 LMHS Music Students Accepted to All-State

Congratulations to all of the Linn-Mar High School musicians who participated in the Iowa All-State District Auditions. All auditions were held virtually October 22-24, 2020, at Le Mars, Hampton, Independence, Atlantic, Indianola, and Washington. The 2020 Festival concert would have celebrated the 74th anniversary of this prestigious event.

The Linn-Mar High School Music Department had a total of 82 students audition for an opportunity to perform within the 2020 Iowa All-State Music Festival. Of those students, 48 were accepted to either the Iowa All-State Band, Orchestra or Choir. There were 11 accepted to the All-State Band with 3 alternates, 22 string players selected to the All-State Orchestra with 2 Alternates, and 15 selected to the All-State Chorus with 2 alternates. Below is a listing by ensemble of the students accepted and those that are alternates.

While the 2020 All-State Music Festival Concert has been canceled due to health safety concerns caused by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, that in no way diminishes the accomplishment of the young musicians designated as members of the 2020 All-State Band, Choir, or Orchestra.
