Ethan Boston
Linn-Mar senior Ethan Boston, a standout on the varsity cross country team, qualified for the State Meet and is a respected team captain. Known for his leadership, Ethan motivates his teammates by holding them accountable and leading by example, pushing everyone to perform at their best.
Outside of cross country, Ethan runs track and plays in the philharmonic orchestra. He is balancing a challenging course load this year, including Woods, Pre-calculus, Orchestra, and Government. His favorite class is Woods, where he enjoys creating projects with his hands.
Ethan recently earned the achievement of being the 10th fastest runner in Linn-Mar cross country history. While proud of the accomplishment, he stresses that this season has been about team growth and potential. A highlight from his high school career came when he and teammate Ethan Cheney both ran under 16 minutes in the 5k for the first time.
Balancing athletics and academics can be tough, but Boston credits his teachers and coaches for their ongoing support. āIām grateful for their guidance in helping me manage both,ā he says. Ethan was one of four Linn-Mar students that qualified for and competed in the Iowa High School State Cross Country meet earlier this month.
Ethan Boston stands out as a dedicated leader for the Linn-Mar cross country team, emphasizing teamwork and leading by example. Balancing academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, he remained focused on helping his teammates reach their full potential. His leadership on and off the cross country course continued to drive the team’s success.
