for an attendance
exception request in writing by March 1.
Letters may be mailed to Dirk Halupnik, Executive
Director of Instructional Services, 2999 North Tenth

after an assessment of classroom seat space is made.
Requests are NOT guaranteed from year to year.
Interested parents should be aware that transportation
is NOT available to students receiving approval for an
attendance center request.
Past Due Funds
Linn-Mar Community School District has contracted with eTech
Transaction Solution, Inc., to facilitate the District with a
collection recovery plan. Items 90 days past due will be turned
over to eTech Transaction Solutions for collection. Checks
returned due to non-sufficient funds will be re-presented
electronically and charged a collection fee at the maximum
allowed by the state. If you have any questions regarding this
procedure please call the District office at (319) 447-3000.
Nutrition Services Department
Effective January 1, 2010, the following procedure will be
in effect for NSF checks written to the Nutrition Services
Department.
- eTech (Linn-Mar’s collection agency) will inform our
department of NSF checks written for meal accounts on a
weekly basis.
- Upon
notification of NSF checks, the amount of the check will
be debited from the family meal account which may create
a negative meal account balance.
- Questions regarding NSF checks should be directed to
eTech at 1-800-826-8185.
- Upon
notification that the check has been cleared with eTech,
the meal account will be credited for the amount of the
check.
Families
should keep the graduated charge policy in mind if an NSF
situation occurs. High School students must have funds in
their account to make any purchases. Middle School students
are allowed to charge a meal for three days after which time
a peanut butter and jelly sandwich will be substituted for
the entree (allergies are taken into consideration.)
Elementary students will be provided a meal and their family
contacted by the Nutrition Services Department if the
account balance is in arrears.
